ALP maintains lead over government in polls

The latest Newspoll shows Labor leading the Coalition 56 to 44 on a two-party preferred basis. Some interesting graphs can, as always, be found on Ozpolitics. Of particular note is the graph showing Howard clawing back similar leads held by Beazley and Latham in previous election cycles – although Rudd is doing somewhat better than either of them at a similar stage.
