pixies to play adelaide (at last, perhaps)

In addition to the Pixies playing the loathsome V Festival, they have since announced they are also playing in Tasmania and Western Australia.

Now a somewhat (ahem) reliable source tells me they are likely to play at Memorial Drive in Adelaide on 3 April 2007, tickets on sale through Venuetix 19 February.

This would be the coolest thing to happen in Adelaide since… well, ever.

i’m almost there to Vegas where they’re puttin’ on a show
they’ve come so far i’ve lived this long at least i must just go and say
hello

UPDATE: Hmm, they appear to be playing Melbourne on 4 April according to this.

UPDATE 2: Looks like they are confirmed to be playing both Melbourne and Adelaide from the V Festival official site!

Adelaide – Memorial Drive

TUE APRIL 3 – Pixies, Jarvis Cocker & Phoenix, with special guests

WED APRIL 4 – Pet Shop Boys, Groove Armada, Gnarls Barkley & The Rapture

And Jarvis Cocker thrown into the deal for good measure…

This would, indeed, be one of the greater things to happen to/in Adelaide. Unfortunately, however, the VenueTix website hasn’t mentioned it yet. They still have a week to get the website updated. Meanwhile, you could always buy tickets to Monster Trucks – Tour of Destruction 2007.

Confirmed is such a dangerous word.

Oh come on, it’s better than “debatably” which is what I was going to go with… if, as seems likely, your info is correct, I promise to give you an upgrade to ‘generally’ for future info…

Still no mention of Mini-V on VenueTix’ website.

Hmm, well the V Festival site definitely says that the deal’s going down, and I would have thought it’d be pretty reliable.

Ticket booking sites are useless in my experience…

Dust off your credit cards ladies and gentlement. 21 hours and 53 minutes until tickets go on sale.

Tickets are sitting on my livingroom table. They even say “PIXIES” on them rather than “V-festival” which carries much less street cred.

That’s an ambiguous sentence if I ever saw one…interpret it however you’d like.

Is there any chance of an editing option being added?
